To request a visit, please send an email including the following information:
- Your preferred date(s) and time(s) of visit (please provide several options)
- Full name
- Affiliation (university, organization, etc.)
- Contact information (email address and phone number)
- Purpose of your visit
Please note that inquiries sent between Thursday and Sunday may not be answered immediately. We kindly ask that you contact us at least one week before your planned visit.
Mondays and Wednesdays: 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (closed on public holidays)
If you wish to visit on a day other than those listed above, please contact us in advance.
Requirements for Visitors
- Photo ID: Visitors are required to present valid photo identification (e.g. a passport, residence card, driver’s license, employee ID, or student ID) upon arrival.
- Security: Please note that security cameras are in operation throughout the archive.
- Archive Policies: We kindly ask all visitors to read the Visitor Rules and Regulations below before their visit.

To preserve Professor Bin Kimura’s collection in its original condition for future generations, we ask all visitors to observe the following rules:
All bags must be stored in the lockers provided upon entry. Valuables and essential items (such as notebooks) may be brought into the archive only in the transparent bags provided by staff. Visitors are responsible for their personal belongings and locker keys. The archive assumes no responsibility for loss or theft. Staff may inspect the contents of the transparent bags upon departure to help ensure the preservation of materials.
A Visitor Record Card will be prepared based on the information provided at the time of reservation. Please record your arrival and departure times, as well as whether you requested any photocopies, on this card.
Materials are for reference only and may not be borrowed. Please do not remove any materials from the designated area.
Black-and-white photocopying is available for most books, up to half of the total pages of a single work. Photocopying will be carried out by staff upon request. The fee is 10 yen per page.
5. Prohibited Actions and Instructions
Please follow staff instructions regarding the use of materials and facilities. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Any behavior that could compromise the safety of patients, other visitors, or staff
- Entering floors other than the archive floor unless necessary
- Audio or video recording, photography, or scanning with mobile devices; posting unauthorized photos or videos on social media
- Mishandling materials, including writing on them, cutting pages, placing materials directly on the floor, throwing materials, or eating or drinking while using the collection
Please note that security cameras are in operation throughout the facility.
