With the opening of the "Kimura Satoshi Memorial Clinical Philosophy Library," I feel a renewed sense of connection with Dr. Kimura.

Our hospital's decision to entrust Dr. Kimura's collection to us began when I received a consultation from Dr. Takashi Ikuta,my supervising physician during my residency...

木村先生との思い出は3期に分かれます
1期目は私がまだ小学生の頃です。木村先生が名古屋市立大学に勤めておられた時期、週2回当院で入院患者の診察をしていただいていましたが、私の父が口にする精神科の話題の中によく木村先生のことが出てきました。木村先生は自叙伝の中で、名古屋におられたこの時期が「独自の精神病理学理論を構築していく上で、最も脂がのりきった時期だと思う」（『精神医学から臨床哲学へ』、2010）と書いておられますが、当院にとってもその頃は、読書会はじめ著明な先生方が当院と関わりを持ってくださっていた時期で、精神科医療についての議論が最も活発になされた時期とも言えます。
　当時子どもであった私にとって印象的だったのは、木村先生が当院保養所の木曽駒山荘で翻訳をされておられたこと、そして私も直接お話しする機会がありましたのでその様々な場面でのやりとりです。私は当時の大人の会話の中から、精神医学は生物学的側面と心理学的側面の両輪から成り立っており、片方に振り子が触れてもまた振り子は戻ってくるということを感じていました。
また私の母が音楽関係の仕事に携わっていたこともあり、木村先生とは音楽の面でもご縁がありました。この頃は光栄にも家族ぐるみでお付き合いをさせていただいておりましたが、子どもの私もコンサートに一緒に連れて行ってくださったことを覚えています。

2期目は、私が精神科に入局した頃です。木村先生はすでに京都に移られていましたが、私は同期の仲間と一緒に木村先生の京都の読書会にうかがったことがあります。私はドイツ語が苦手でしたが、そこに書かれている言葉の背後にある著者の真意を読みとるというスタイルの読書会のおかげで、言語を超えて本質的に大切なことを教わり、そのお話は今でも非常にためになっています。

3期目は、文庫開設にあたって木村先生の本を読み返している今です。木村先生の膨大な知力に圧倒されてしまい、当院での文庫開設を大変光栄に思う気持ちと同時に、本当に当院でよかったのだろうかという気持ちも混在しております。しかし以前よりは多少私も精神科医療の経験を積み、私の周りに木村先生から教えを受けた先輩方もたくさんみえて今でもその方々と交流があり、最近でも県外の先生から「八事病院は木村先生が読書会をされていた病院ですね」と聞かれることがあるなど、木村先生と当院のご縁を感じる日常があります。
最近私は臨床について以前のように突っ込んだ意見を交わす機会が減っている気がしますが、木村先生のご著書を通じて、木村先生が様々な人と人とのつながりの中で思索をなさっておられたことが想像できます。今後精神科医療はデジタル化がさらに進む一方で、現場ではアナログ的な面が求められてくる、少なくとも今よりは振り子は戻るだろうと私は信じています。その点で、当院も微力ながら何かしらお役に立てればと考えておりますが、この度いただいたこのご縁が当院の背中を押してくださっているものと感じ、やれるところまでやってみようと思っています。

最後になりましたが、今回の文庫開設にあたりまして木村元様、生田孝先生、岡本進先生、清水健信先生には大変お世話になりました。感謝の言葉を終わりの挨拶とさせていただきます。

Nagoya and Our Hospital for Bin Kimura

Kimura returned from Heidelberg in 1970 and taught at the Department of Psychiatry, Nagoya City University School of Medicine
, for 16 years from 1970 until 1986 (as an associate professor from 1970 and a professor from 1974). During this period, with Nakai Hisao as an associate professor and the "Psychopathology of Schizophrenia" workshop flourishing, Kimura coined the iconic concepts of ante festum, post festum, and intra festum, ushering in one of his most academ ically productive periods...

This exhibit features Kimura's works (including books, edited works, translations, Western and Japanese essays, etc.) and items related to Kimura.

Items related to Kimura include Kimura's handwritten manuscripts, a tanzaku (strip of paper) by Kitaro Nishida that Kimura hung in the center of his study, a copy of "Toward Matters of Thought" presented to him d irectly by Heidegger, and a postcard from Binswanger.
