Featured in the Culture section of the Kyoto Shimbun morning edition following an interview (Published Nov. 27, 2025).

The article introduces Professor Bin Kimura’s activities and personal connections in Kyoto.

It highlights his contributions to the "Gendai no Kotoba" (Modern Words) evening column in the Kyoto Shimbun during the 1980s, and his tenure as Director of The Kawai Institute for Culture and Education (※), an affiliated institution located within the Kawaijuku Kyoto school. Additionally, an interview with Kazuhiro Nagata, Director General of the JT Biohistory Research Hall and a close acquaintance since Kimura’s time as a professor at Kyoto University, reveals that Kimura's book Jikan to Jiko (Time and the Self), which examines patients' awareness of time and self-consciousness, is one of Mr. Nagata's favorite readings.

※ The Kawai Institute for Culture and Education (commonly known as Bunkyōken) was established in 1984 as an affiliated research institute of the educational corporation Kawaijuku.
The institute has engaged in research activities across a wide range of fields. Its members consist of Kawaijuku instructors who lead and form research groups, along with Senior Researchers invited from outside the institution—including scholars and researchers specializing in the foundations of mathematics, creative writing, philosophy, psychiatry, French literary and intellectual history, East Asian history, biology, pedagogy, and modern Japanese intellectual history. The institute has hosted numerous symposia and lecture series in various regions, publishing their records and research outcomes in book form. Professor Kimura served as a researcher at the institute from 1994, and as its Director from 2008 until his passing.
