　木村の京都での活動や親交も紹介されています。

　80年代に京都新聞夕刊コラム「現代のことば」に執筆していたこと、河合塾京都校内にあった当塾付属機関「河合文化教育研究所」（※）の所長を務めていたこと、京都大学教授時代から親交があったJT生命誌研究館館長の永田和宏氏へのインタビューからは患者の時間意識や自己意識を考察した木村の著書「時間と自己」が永田氏の愛読書であること、など。

　※河合文化教育研究所（通称文教研）は、1984年に学校法人河合塾の付属研究機関として設立されました。
　研究員は、研究会を主宰し構成する河合塾講師と、外部から迎えた、数学基礎論、作家、哲学、精神医学、仏文学史・思想史、東洋史、生物学、教育学、日本近代思想史を専門とする学者、研究者らの主任研究員で構成され、広範な分野の研究活動を行ってきました。各地で様々なシンポジウムや講演会数多く開催し、その記録と、研究会での研究成果を書物にして発行してきました。（河合文化教育研究所のホームページより引用）
　木村は1994年から研究員として、2008年から亡くなるまで所長を務めていた。
